@kdfrawg ….Remember when is was feasible and often desirable to code directly in assembler? Can you even imagine doing such a thing now?

This was drilled home to me with that ODS app.net thingy I was doing for fun. Was in the process of writing the TCP stack in assembly (again, for fun).

Dear God what a hornet's nest.

@kdfrawg We ask so much of code now that everything is interconnected. Throw in having to do the memory management yourself too and other languages suddenly look much better.

Microsoft OneNote. It just "fits" me better.

There comes a time when you look at a lump of legacy C code and realize that we are asking too much of C in this modern era.

At least you know "bend over and cough" will never be uttered by a printer.

I switched over to something else but have kept it installed "just in case". I dread the thoughts of cleaning it up.

Reads like the "Stages of tequila"

This directory (and version of CentOS) is depreciated.

Goodnight sweet prince.

@kdfrawg They're both ponderous writers and needed a good editor to help them trim fat.

@kdfrawg Most of the stuff they come out with now is almost painful to sit through. Occasionally, they come up with something watchable (The Marvel movies) but they proceed to beat it into the ground then smear politics and opinion over it.
