I think Sidekick and I need to bump our plans to go here forward just a bit. Desperate need to chill and drink wine. Recharge.
@kdfrawg That's where being very selective enters the picture. As soon as people started socializing online, I drew a sharp line between business and professional. It has served me well. :)
The whole challenge of cross-platform with what I do is that web-based applications are out of the question for a lot of my customers. For very valid reasons. If Fortune 500 companies with entire IT departments can;t keep customer data safe, "Joe-bob's Property Management Services", isn't going to stand much of a chance either.
@larand Im just hunkering down on my out-of-the way planet and waiting for one or the other to implode.
@thrrgilag I find it interesting that the whole "web apps are the future" thing has derailed a bit. Especially since the frameworks we have now are actually up to the task.

@kdfrawg As long as places provide easy, granular ways of filtering individual streams, you can avoid most irritations.
@larand Love that app. Kind of miss their original dark theme though.
// @thrrgilag
@kdfrawg Most I've ever had over was 130 and that was for our house-warming. I don't think holding something like that again would go over well with Sidekick.

Microsoft, I have been told twice today that were it not for a small application here or there, they'd request I put them on Enterprise Linux workstations again because the irritations they faced on that platform at least didn't stop them dead in their tracks.
Though I don't really have the time or resources, I'm giving serious thought to whipping up cross-platform versions of these applications and giving my customers the option to go back to Enterprise Linux if this updateapolooza becomes untenable.
It'll piss off a bunch of vendors but I am beyond caring at this point. Something's got to give and if they don't do it, I sure as Hell will.
