@kdfrawg I have mixed memories. Being the only white person in a square mile, working night shift at a Burger King off Refugee Road was one of the better one's believe it or not. Working the counter at Connison's Food Mart in Bexley would be a not so good one. I eventually got a real job at Bell & Howell. Followed that with, "Do I want to get my Masters or quit and make money". Chose the latter. :)

@kdfrawg
Also have one in Columbus, Indiana. None in Columbus, OH though.
//

@kdfrawg I have a customer Columbus, Georgia.

My only fond memories of Ohio were of a bar called The Charley Horse in a town called Lancaster. I used to stop there a lot on my way back to Columbus when I was going to OSU. It was one of those scary sort of dives but was fine once you became a regular. I learned how to lose at pool there…for health reasons. :)

@kdfrawg never did "all the way to the west coast" in one go. Used to do WV to Tulsa, OK in one go fairly often.

Business-wise, getting on the road by 2:00AM and being in New Orleans by 8:00ish was fairly routine when customers were getting back on their feet after Katrina

@kdfrawg That's a soul killing drive.
//

@kdfrawg A huge opportunity totally squandered

//

@kdfrawg "I'm being stupid. Nothing will go wrong if I perform this upgrade"

catastrophe happens

@kdfrawg it's funny how those feelings of impending doom turn out to be fully justified.

Very nice.
