@matigo I rescind my criticism a bit. AT&T's router's firmware is the most ignorant and convoluted thing I have ever seen. I had to do firefox with X11 forwarding (Sloooooow) and do it myself. I can see why he was confused and irritated.
Honest question: Does anyone in Florida know how to do a port forward on a router? I think the answer is no.
So far…
- We could not get an IP lease because they unplugged the router. I'm not sure why. I opted not to ask.
- Are having trouble getting getting the data dump to me because dropbox isn't working because "I updated to Sierra on my Mac" . Question of the day: "Why would Dropbox not work? It was just an update."
This is going to be a long night.
And the drive/system falls in the 40 percent column. He's going to have to re-install. That should give me time to drive home, anyway
@larand Looking like it will be early AM by the time I leave the office at this rate.
Delivered: Front Door: NAVARRE, FL, US 3:59PM
I should know by now that UPS's early AM delivery is open to interpretation by people who cannot tell time.
About to see if pre-loaded hard drive sent to Florida can be booted from EFI only system. About a 60 - 40 ratio of success there.
I don't think talking the guy on the other end through fiddling with the EFI stuff from a rescue image will be a good idea. He can just re-install from scratch and I'll configure it all remotely this weekend. grumble
