I think we're going on the wrong direction with electric cars.

Lithium ion tech is, long term, the same trap as fossile fuels in terms of resources and pollution.

Need to spend the research dollars on making hydrogen fuel cells viable. H2O from the exhaust pipe and we will never run out of hydrogen. No rare earth minerals and metals to run out of. None of it making its way to the water table in dumps.
