This sounds like a recurring problem involving features and PEBCAK that occur in my neck of the woods.

More apparent when those years have been spent in entirely different environs.

Well, in this particular case, there isn't anything bad aside from a 40 years worth of water under the bridge. Life tends to mold us into entirely different people over time.

Aside from that, I can say that the only bad thing is the years have been far kinder to her, cosmetically, than they have been to me :D

It's a special brand of awkward when someone who last saw you 40 years ago gets in touch on Facebook.

You aren't strangers, per-se, but you are. Actually, it's worse than a stranger since it's someone operating with outdated information and faded memories.

Good question. Since a sort of Alcubierre drive is being used, I'm not really moving much but space warping around me. It's kind of portal-ish.

I think you need GlaDOS to truly make it about portals though.

Status: Drinking bourbon and zipping through space.

Caffeine infusion continues. Listening to Garbage Version 2.0 since Shirley Manson's voice seems to fit the morning.

A lot of remote work scheduled for today.

@kdfrawg Every time I read that phrase, it's in the voice of George HW Bush.

@kdfrawg GTX-960 is pretty much the minimum for anything respectable. You need a 970 or better to use the Oculus Rift with it. performance-wise
