And the kicker is, the reason they refused to compromise came to pass anyway. The only commercially successful "distros" are wholly controlled by a corporate entity that only shares what they want when they want.

It's a little depressing. You can see glimpses of what could have been had the ball not been dropped a few years back. If certain parties had been willing to compromise, it would have been dominate.

Ubuntu experiment ends for now.

It's just in a slightly prettier condition than it was in 2008.
