There are times I prefer a Windows-based server to a Linux one.

The Windows ones tend to go bonkers quicker. The Linux ones keep trudging on to the point of no return.

The logs of our mail server tell such a story.

@kdfrawg The only war home movies I watched were from Vietnam. Long story short, that step-father became an ex-step-father in short order.

//

@kdfrawg The only purpose it serves to me is a connection to a bunch of folks who have spread to all parts of the country (and world). Beyond that, I had no real use for it.

@kdfrawg
I don't understand people who've been there for each other through the deaths of children and spouses, health scares, etc, allowing events they have zero control over drive a wedge.

I'm watching life-long friendships disintegrate.

Ooops. Cup.

I really need to replace this.

@kdfrawg I find nothing humorous about the situation.

It pretty much is. I'm not going to watch people who've grown up together and have known one another for nearly a half a century do that each other.

Life is far too short.

  • 6 large baking potatoes cut in 1/2 inch cubes
  • 1 large, chopped onion.
  • 1 quart of chicken broth
  • 3 minced garlic cloves
  • 1/4 butter (I prefer 1/2)
  • 2 1/2 teaspoons salt
  • 1 teaspoon pepper (I prefer a bit more)
  • 1 cup of cream
  • 1 cup of shredded cheddar
  • 3 tablespoons chopped chives
  • 1 cup of sour cream
  • 8 slices of crisp bacon crumbled up

Put first seven ingredients in crock pot and cook on high for 4 hours.

Mash it all up until the soup is at the consistency you want.

Stir in the chives, cream and cheese.

Top it with the sour cream and bacon.

Edit: Beat back autocorrect with a stick

Taking a breather and going on Facebook was a very bad idea.

I have my hands full with the things I (mostly) can control. I've neither the time nor patience to argue about those things I do not. I'm definitely not inclined to watch grown adults hurl the epitaph, "Nazi", at one another.
