@kdfrawg What's funny and not is you know it will bite you in the backside eventually.

//

@kdfrawg It's an amalgamation of quick, temporary solutions. Just stuff put in with, "We'll put the time into doing this right when we have the time".

And, of course, we never had the time.

It'd help if the peanut gallery would lay off for a little bit.

Speaking of war movies, I'm about to recreate the opening to Private Ryan in our server closet.
//

@kdfrawg I assumed it was. No idea why those movies and slides popped into my head while reading that. I guess my mind is in a morbid place right now.

There are times I prefer a Windows-based server to a Linux one.

The Windows ones tend to go bonkers quicker. The Linux ones keep trudging on to the point of no return.

The logs of our mail server tell such a story.

@kdfrawg The only war home movies I watched were from Vietnam. Long story short, that step-father became an ex-step-father in short order.

//

@kdfrawg The only purpose it serves to me is a connection to a bunch of folks who have spread to all parts of the country (and world). Beyond that, I had no real use for it.

I don't understand people who've been there for each other through the deaths of children and spouses, health scares, etc, allowing events they have zero control over drive a wedge.

I'm watching life-long friendships disintegrate.
