I'd be more concerned about ear buds if I used them for anything more than props so people don't bother me while I'm thinking/working.
I don't think I've used mine for sound conveyance since my 3rd gen iPod was current.
I know there's more to life than coaxing a MySQL database back from death by file system corruption. It's just for other people to enjoy. That's all.

@kdfrawg It left it's mark on people in a lot of ways. My grandmother would hoard food. The basement was filled with canned goods. When she passed away, we found cans of pie filling from the 1970s. They were easy to spot, being swelled round and all.
@matigo It's as shame but they never could get that thing properly shielded and keep it from overheating at the same time.
