It's lecture time again.

When you receive an email from a long time client that requests you look at an important document and..

  • The sender is from rural Virginia, has known you for years yet starts the email, "Dear sir/madam" instead of her customary , "Hey <insert name here>"
  • Includes the phrase 'Secure pdf for your perusal'
  • Is followed almost immediately by an email CC'd to half of the Continental United States.

..delete the damned email instead of opening it then forwarding to everyone in the office because you're confused.

When you ask me if I'd replace your Linux workstation with a Windows one and I say, "No", this is why.

Revised to-do:

Make blog post say something other than "Please work, damnit"

There…nevermind…it works, now.
Must make post else you get 404.
Derp.

New Post: Hey [eee-eye-eee.io]

https://eee-eye-eee.io/404

So, add to to-do list. Redirect that URL to the blog, here…properly.

Web stuff, beyond simple things with apache always throws me for a loop.

@kdfrawg Please let me keep my delusions. They're all I have left. :)

Yeah. It's a seldom used skill anymore. Someday, it will be consigned to the same bin my thicknet and thinnet skills reside.

Only reason it occurred to me was I'm going back to wired in my home office since I've been moving a lot of data around. My patch cables are in the garage and a box of CAT6 was in the basement so…

That be it. :D

The aging process may occasionally rob me of the ability to remember where I put my car keys but I will probably never forget how to wire T568-B.

Having that on the floor in my office would be wonderful.
