This is hopeless. I don't know what they've done in the laast few updates but I can't even position the cursor to make corrections. It is VERY warm to the touch. No clue what it is doing in the background. Had to abort a reply to Dale because it wasn't worth fighting.

Thanks thing goes back to the desk drawer.

Note: Final nonsensical sentence remains as a badge of shame for the Nexus 7

Yep. It's not going to replace this IPad Air.

Posting from the newly risen Nexus 7. It has taken me about eight minutes from clicking chrome to writing this. Horrid experience.

@skematica I'm getting my feet wet now with Xamarin. I've done a lot of C# in the past and I'm hoping it will be a good fit. I love the idea of having one single environment to work on all the platforms I work with.

But, I will go back to Android Studio in a heartbeat if Xamarin proves to be subpar

I have a feeling that sort of thing is a bit more hazardous than it used to be.

@skematica Mine has been flawless so far. Typing on it now, in fact. I also occasionally sketch out a UI idea into Microsoft Note from it using a stylus and it does an age up job of that too.

What I don't like is the developer experience. I'd rather work in Android Studio than spend 30 seconds in Xcode. I just don't like Apple's developer tools.

@skematica if annoying because I really want to like Android tablets. other than the small Galaxy Tab I have, they've all been garbage when compared to the iPads.

@skematica Mine, if discharged or shut completely off may not come back on again for months. Sometime you get lucky and after holding the power button down for 15 or 20 seconds, the google logo apoears and it starts up.

Why would you profane a cut of meat like that with veggies? Veggies are what that meat ate.

There's nothing quite as lethargic as a Nexus 7 updating after being off for nine months.
