@kdfrawg When you're stuck writing software for it anyway…

Windows 10 is not all that bad, I have to admit.

At least Microsoft hasn'tt gotten to the point of treating the tools I work with like a consumer appliance yet.

I hate how those threads devolve to..

"WTF Apple! Why did you do this?"

"You should be happy they are doing this because reasons"

"Those reasons are invalid for me and my workflow"

"Your workflow is wrong then"

"It's a custom, mission critical application that hasn't been updated yet."

"Complain to the developer then. Not Apple's problem"

…and so on. The violently religious faction is always there to stomp the criticisms.

Yep. That's what's being reported. They have physically removed it. Period.

@kdfrawg Kernel panic from the HFS filesystem driver. Hope like hell I have the insteller at home because this thing gets repaved this weekend or benched and replaced. If Apple is turning the water up on the frogs where OS downgrades are concerned (or soon not to be concerned), it'll be replaced with a ThinkPad.

If this is a prelude to making MacOS be like iOS in terms of never rolling back, I'm done with them.

I'm hoping it is on the external hard drive I use for Time Machine backups of my Air or the one I use for the Mini. Wanted badly to do a wipe/reinstallation of the Air this weekend since it has become increasingly flaky after so many upgrades.

Not doing High Sierra for a few months yet.

Spontaneous reboot.

Hmmmmm.

@kdfrawg Makes me wonder about the file system corruption I posted an image of recently. The hardware check says everything is kosher but…there it is staring me in the face. Directory entries scrambled.

@kdfrawg I looked at one of those. Unfortunately, I needed a large trunk since I travelled quite a bit and had to have a lot of computer gear with me (Or haul a line printer to/from a place)

Haven't found a single, solitary peep about it's disappearance online, either.
