Sad state of affairs. Here, they went up almost overnight and the uproar was tremendous. It helped that some of the city officials were having legal troubles at the time and were on thin ice.

Lasted for all of two months then one day, city trucks were out and yanking them off each intersection. (Some had been shot out. Welcome to the southeast.)

They were made to remove them in town. Became a political albatross in a hurry.

Now finding myself in the middle of a customer's corporate shake up.

Blocking access of people I have dealt with for almost 20 years.

Playing dumb when called.

Telling their CFO repeatedly that I do NOT want to know the details.

This has been quite a day so far.

And…one of the glib C symlinks was not a symlink at all. It was different version of glibc entirely. Someone was trying to get some obscure thing they downloaded to work.

I will find out who did this and that person will not be permitted to touch one of my systems again.

I had applications segfaulting left and right because there were, get this, two versions of glibc installed.

How this happened, I do not know.

I am clearing the smoke slowly.

I have encountered every single YUM idiosyncrasy this morning.

I am winning in spite of this however.

Prevent this man from getting a warm cup of coffee and he will steamroll right over you.

New Wednesday goal: Finish getting ready for work and don pants before noon.

(I have been fielding issues from home since 6:00AM)

The only time I was ever called for it down here, I lucked out. The judge knows me and knows my being away from the office would be bad juju.
