Local talk radio station I stopped listening to due to one of their personalities being an unbearable ass.

Started listening on the way to the office again since there have been some local stories happening.

Guy's not there. Which I found odd as he was their head honcho so to speak.

Turns out he's facing a grand jury after a road rage incident. Smashed out a guy's window with a tomahawk and got shot for his trouble.

There's my morning story.

Another not-so-hot development is Bethesda and others leaving Steam.

I am not remotely interested in every platform having it's own launcher to navigate.

Giving serious consideration again to returning to Linux as a general, non-gaming platform.

Variety of reasons.

Mostly due to several recent update fiascos.

Not to mention a ever growing dislike of big tech.

I can do many things over the phone where IT and software support is concerned.

"One of our guys forgot to lower a dump truck bed and it took out the power and phone lines to our office."

is not one of those things I am equipped to handle.

About half asleep. Had radio on in my office. News story from Nashville. Two kids carjacked someone. They had to run away on foot as it was a manual transmission.

Worth a chuckle.

Yes, you only lost five inodes but they were on /boot and the kernel was on them. Tell me again why you never bother with backups or mirroring.

My Friday is a Monday

I'm put in mind, today, of the server I received that had been blasted across a burning office by a firehose. Or, I should say, the charred metal taco.

"Could you get anything off of it?"

"Well…soot"

This has been a horrible week.

"We smelled something burning coming from the server closet and now we cannot get into the software. Can you log in remotely and see what happened."

I'm going to take a wild guess and say, "No".

It has a certain charm, though.

I remember the first time I drove past a Kum and Go.

"You have GOT to be kidding me"
