Wish I had something more productive to say than, "Welcome to QT Creator"

If it's any consolation, it used to be a lot worse.

The latest install on my Air went swimmingly. The one prior made me so mad I built it all from source.

The latest happened to be the online install. The offline install is the one that gave me fits.

@skematica Politics become largely useless once they leave the local level.

No, but if you hum a few bars…

I really need a teapot for my office. And some tea. Nothing fancy. PG Tips will do.

Also, you can try adding..

export QTDIR=/opt/Qt5.7.0/5.7/clang_64

to your .profile and see what Creator thinks of it.

// @thrrgilag

It should give you the option to manually force that directory

i.e.: /opt/qt-whatever/version-whatever

// @thrrgilag

When you go into the setups, is the library indeed pointed there? Also, in your project you are trying to make, is the proper target type chosen (i.e.: clang mac os target)

// @thrrgilag

@kdfrawg I didn't take that personally but it's a hot button issue for me anyway. Everyone tends to paint with broad brush strokes during an election year and make a mess.

Hate politics.

@kdfrawg Like I said, that's a little extreme. A lot of people here vote out of reflex. Nothing more. The disaster of Trump may well change that for the better.

I try not to ascribe motives to people when I do not know them. My neighbor, for instance, I know. He is far from a bigot.

Assuming you installed it to your home directory it should be..

$HOME/Qt5/<QT version number>/clang64/lib
$HOME/Qt5/<QT version number>/clang
64/include
$HOME/Qt5/<QT version number>/clang_64/bin

// @thrrgilag
