My book cravings are moving from Russian literature to early romantic era poetry.

It might be my brain rebelling against being fed upcoming payroll tax changes from our CPA. Accountants write and cite some very dry prose.

@kdfrawg I'm reminded of a story Stevie Ray Vaughn told about his collapse. Throwing up blood while on the road and saying, "Oh man, I'm scared. I need a drink". Being told, "The last thing you need is a drink". Saying, "I know. But I need a drink". He went into rehab shortly afterwards.

@kdfrawg I veered that way with drinking and some drug use. It took a hard look at my family to change course.

The art is knowing the difference between "liking a drink" and "needing a drink". If I am in "a mood" and feel the latter, I do not drink. Period.

The line between "desire" and "compulsion" is fine and deadly.

@kdfrawg My grandfather, great grandfather, great grandmother and nearly all of my uncles have/had drinking problems.

@kdfrawg My people are an even mix of Irish and Creek Indian. Drinking alcohol with those genes is like juggling flaming chainsaws.

A relaxing sip of bourbon as I listen to the wind and rain pelt the house.

A good evening so far.

It occurs to me that, with my constant talk of bourbon, I come across as a alcoholic. Rest assured that I am not. The last time I overdid it was nearly a decade ago.

I only maintained an interest in it because I had to write software that moved millions of dollars around.

I consider it negligent to not know what you're up against.

Enough fooling around.

It's time for whisky and a good book

Torn between re-reading 'Crime & Punishment' or 'The Brothers Karamazov'

So far the screaming has been about, "Why did Durham Bussing have this contract"

Yep. Hoping it ends with the county taking over bussing again but not holding my breath
