It's a product that has seen CP/M, the IBM AS400, DOS, Unix, Linux and, yes, Windows.

And I am so sick of wrangling with it.

It has killed my one passion - Writing code.

When you look at a product over a million lines long and realize that, at it's core, it's from 1979 and you are facing 2017…

I've said it before and I will say it again. Part of me wishes I had joined the steamfitter's union straight out of high school and not gone into the "college then do tech stuff" business.

Sure, I would not have made as much money but that has never been a strong motivation for me. It's just a convenience. One that has it's own complications and down sides.

Monday, I was so dizzy upright that I developed vertigo and nearly ran off the road before I made it 1/4 mile to the office. The rest of the week was spent slightly less dizzy and feeling like someone beat me with a tomato stake.

I generally get confrontational with anything that disables me. After I was nearly killed when I was 16, I refused to use a bedpan in the hospital. I somehow managed to corral two IV poles and manage the spinal tap in my neck and inch my way to the bathroom of the hospital room. I caused a big panic with the nurses on that floor because I went off their diagnostics equipment.

I'm not a very smart person, actually. :)

Tonight is a mixture of C#, Maker's Mark and taking care of sidekick. She finally managed to catch the flu that has been making the rounds.

It's funny how we cope with colds, her and I. She takes her temperature constantly and never gets out of bed. As soon as I can stand upright without falling, I change out the ignition system in my car.

Her method is the superior one, I'm sure. :)

@kdfrawg Bosch makes a nice reader that has BMW specific functionality plus report-to-printer capability, etc. Been looking for an excuse to buy one.

@kdfrawg A little irritated right now. That thing has both OBDC-1 and OBDC-2 ports. My oil and inspection reset tool is OBDC-1 and only works 1 time out of 10 if I am lucky. I need to buy a good OBDC-2 code reader anyway…grrr.

I haven't listened to that for years. Mostly due to how long the episodes are :)

While changing oil, I witnessed a race between a Mityvac and a thunderstorm. The former won, thank God. They seem fast sucking eight quarts of oil from an engine, until there's thunder rolling in the distance, blackening skies and a massive temperature drop.

More people know about Laurel and Hardy than two mimes with a short-lived 1970s variety show

Okay. I'd like to stop feeling like someone beat me with tomato stake. Any time now. I don't want to play flu any more. Moving like Shields and Yarnell isn't amusing.

Jesus. Could I possibly have chosen a less dated reference?
