Had to dig deep and brush aside a few cobwebs to remember Sybase.

"When you have something that reliably handles a large workload for 24 years under your belt, you can come back and express your opinion."

Congratulations. Very happy for you and yours.

They were doing it clear up into the 1970s. My left hand was slammed into a car door when I was three. Almost lost fingers. Had to learn to be a righty but gradually shifted back to my left in grade school. Penmanship teacher pretty much beat the attempt out of me. Hateful old woman.

People are unspeakably rude anymore. No filters. Not having to face someone makes that a lot easier. I couldn't imagine tearing down someone like that. If it ever happened here, that person would be sent head first out the door.

Sidekick wrote a similar email when a publisher that fluffed her off came calling, years later, to try and sign her.

Now researching something I once thought heretical. Buying a pre-assembled, VR-ready gaming PC.

Also giving serious thought to replacing the Mac Mini with an iMac. Another thing I would never have considered in the past.

That was my thought. Phone booths are something I have not seen in years. Just empty husks where they used to be. Same with ISDN connections. Hearing of the two, in concert, is pretty neat.

Experiencing a wholesale shift in priorities as far as life is concerned. Have spent most of it so far performing at the whim of outside responsibilities. Business. Customers.etc.

Finding myself becoming more selfish. Thinking about what I and Sidekick want as opposed to what the firm that called at 10:35 on Tuesday wants.

Feeling more human as a result. Time will tell if this is a good or bad trend.

Checking the old mail bag this morning, I see that a coup has finally taken place. Been watching it slowly unfold over the last six months. The snide remark or two. The, "Please contact me instead of her". The occasional "You didn't hear this from me but.." Apparently it was executed in earnest last night as a formal request for <redacted's> name to be stricken was sent.

There is a new duchess of accounts payable.
