Nervously waiting to find out if Sidekick will be admitted to the hospital or, if what we suspect is the case, she received and errant diagnosis from a PCP interested in making a referral.

If it's the latter, I will wind up in jail if I cross paths with him.

A weekend of gardening, working on a riding mower, bike riding and coding awaits.

Just have to get through "normal working hours"

I'm surprised it hasn't been shuttered. Same goes for MySQL since MariaDB fills it's role quite nicely.

They've left OpenOffice in the dust from what I have seen.

//

I try to avoid those until I can test them beforehand. Sidekick uses an older version of OpenOffice. Updates completely destroy her print formatting templates. Trying to move her to Office Word (where I can easily doctor templates for her) but she hates change.

I actually bothered to read the article this time. Yay me! The Core i9 and T2 stuff was interesting.

I hate what they did to the function keys though and still prefer the Air's keyboard.

If I could have a retina Air, I would be blissfully happy.

I'm going to click on that link to discover they've been reduced to a paper thin slab of aluminum with one USB-C port and a MagSafe port. Nothing else. Just a slab with two holes.

The payment service, Square, has an iPad-based POS system. It's clever and looks very sharp on a counter. Has a iPhone app that you can use to monitor your operation. Very slick. Just has a weakness when it comes to keeping track of inventory.

My only interaction with them was a point of sale and inventory control system that utilized them. Also saw the iPad/Square-based one. The Surface set-up was vastly superior in my opinion. The Square one's inventory control sucks.
