@phoneboy I'm glad my initial, "you don't want to waste your time with this", assessment was correct. (It often isn't)

@matigo I am so, so tempted to give AMD another shot. Haven't even considered them since the Athlon XP days.
@matigo I'm still surprised. Typically, you want an i7 8700 or something. I had already sourced all the parts for a new system and was about to pull the trigger (1900.00 of ouch) but decided to see what the old Dell would do.
Works perfectly. Even streaming Skyrim which is heavily CPU dependent already.
..Also, had Mrs Wilson tune in on the Roku to see ho it translated to a HI-DEF TV. It was amazingly crisp.
Initial streaming tests last night were encouraging. My old i5 system was able to stream Elite Dangerous at 60 fps, 6.5 to 6.8K with only 6 to 8 percent CPU usage and no dropped frames.
Caffeine in my system. Fighting to be heard over flu-related aches, pains and lethargy. Losing the battle. Ugh.
@matigo The drive here (30 miles) was rough. Not looking forward to doing it again for a while.
Since my brain is too fogged from being sick to actually code, I research streaming software and the like while answering silly questions.
Tis the season for colds and flu I guess.
I feel absolutely horrid.
Like an idiot, I am at the office.
