Looking at changes coming in the October 2018 update of Windows 10

  1. Cortana being deemphasized in the search bar. GOOD
  2. Battery details for bluetooth devices. Why it didn't have that to begin with is anyone's guess. GOOD
  3. Magnifier improvements. No opinion.
  4. Increase text size without scaling everything else up. THANK YOU!
  5. Something new regarding the snipping tool. No opinion.
  6. Improving the clipboard. Always welcome. It always struck me as half-assed ever since showing up in Windows 3
  7. An aping attempt at iOS Messages (for Android phones). Not a surprise.
  8. An aping attempt at Apple Photos (for Android phones). Also not a surprise.
  9. Dark theme for Explorer. GOOD
  10. Windows Update to become less annoying with more notifications and options. GOOD
  11. Tool to see what their telemetry app is actually gathering. No opinion.
  12. Too to see what is in a problem report. Nice for edification.
  13. Block autoplay videos in Edge browser. About damned time.
  14. Attempts to make Edge an ebook reader. I have a Kindle and an iPad but okay.
  15. Emojis! Something I couldn't care less about.

All in all, a pretty good update.

Indeed.

I have my regrets about the children vs working thing. I'll say that much.

The car stuff is a hobby and not work-related, at least. :)

My dress code here coldest be described as, "Unkempt guy what holds cardboard sign on the interstate onramp."

Today, however, I am wearing a rather nice dress shirt and slacks to signal that I am not going to fool with working on cars in the warehouse today.

When work becomes life and vice versa, the problem takes care of itself…sort of.

That is annoying. As is setting my sound to 5.1 surround sound (I only have two speakers and a subwoofer) It didn't do it on this last update at least. This pleases me.

I feel horrible that I forgot all about them. I just don't attach to "things". I don't know why I'm that way.

I'd much rather be taking an aimless walk there than sitting in this office.

I've always hated that phase of a move. This last time, I called a friend who worked for the city. They parked a large dump truck in our driveway. I announced to everyone I knew, "If you don't want it, it goes on the truck". (Sentimental things like keepsakes and the like were excluded of course)

We just started fresh in the new house.
