RIP Roy Clark.
@jws What's hilarious is running the IBM-PC port of Centipede on modern hardware. It was timed to a 4.77 MHz clock speed.
A game now will last roughly a millisecond.

@matigo I miss the days when PCs could double as catapult ammo or hold open the heaviest of doors in the strongest breezes.
When keyboards were buckling spring and said, "CLACK, Yo!"
When the power switch was huge, red and made a satisfying, "Clunk", when switched.
When the hard drives with auto park heads made their little machine gun noises while spooling up.
And so on.
@matigo I've never seen the need to try Docker yet. Firing off a VM is so friggin easy. I have a RHEL7 box that I do them on.
# spawn RHEL5-vm
Do things
# dismiss RHEL5-vm
@JeremyCherfas I love the idea behind it and it's an interesting little piece.

..And while I searched for an image of one, coming across that one, I noticed it was Amazon and they had one left in stock of that particular one for pretty cheap so…cha ching.

@larand Nice. I'm thinking about grabbing one of those Russian-made Luch watches. The one-handed ones. I like the idea of "time more granular than five minute increments is unimportant"
