@streakmachine The cost is certainly a negative. You build an ideal dream system and you are well into five figures. Mine will definitely be a Frankenstein, backyard mechanic sort of build.
Getting closer to doing something perverse. Getting a Power9 system and doing another distro. With a BSD-style ports system. It could be fun with no users to concern myself with.
My brain is starting to get rusty, for lack of a better term, and I am falling far behind where things are now. This seems like a good way to alleviate both.
Was thinking a about doing a game engine earlier but that isn't really something that excites me.
@joeo10 I'm seeing that eventuality where Brave is concerned. The whole, "we pay you to look at ads" thing has broadcast where it is headed.

@matigo This is exactly why I remain in the trenches even after moving up. Refine what was there before. Evaluate the new hotness from a distance. Very rarely does the latter succeed the former.

@jussipekonen I couldn't get a good picture of it. it was -4 c and 15 mph winds so the bonfire we had going wasn't much help at all keeping us warm. Fun night none-the-less. Bourbon helped. :)
