Eventually all cars will devolve into bland, rounded coupes that are differentiated only by the nameplate and the shape of the headlights.

@kdfrawg That piece in my hand regularly fetches 350.00 or more. That trim package only existed for the 1967 model. We will make them work come hell or high water. :)

@kdfrawg They were on the Ranchero. Badly oxidized. That one has been worked over with rubbing compound and a bit of acid.

I miss cars that are distinctive.

Pulled up behind a Mercedes this morning that was almost indistinguishable from a Chevy.

@kdfrawg Speaking of distinctive. The door trim is shaping up nicely. Need to apply the matte black paint to the border then done

@kdfrawg I'd love to have something like that in my garage to restore.

@skematica I've always been a closet Gremlin fan :D

@kdfrawg Those and the Plymouth Valiants. Ugly. Plain. Prone to rust. Impossible to totally kill. The slant six most of those things came with were indestructible.

I learned to drive a manual in a Valiant. Three on the tree!

It occurs to me that I have not seen a Chevy Chevette on the road in several years.

I have seen decrepit Ford Mavericks. I have seen elderly Dodge Darts. I have even seen the occasional Plymouth Scamp. even a Pacer or two.

No Chevettes.

Have they all self destructed?

@kdfrawg A silver lining, that.
