I love quiet Fridays.

@kdfrawg Nope.

@kdfrawg Just one of those things I kept putting off because it wasn't more than a slight annoyance. The finishing off of the French drains is another of those since we don't use the basement at all apart from putting the occasional box on a shelf.

That's cool.

Also on tap is procuring a few bags of cement. They never finished the french drain job in the basement. The trenches are still open. Not a huge deal until you factor in the dampness and the radon risks.

We monitor it in the house and it is minuscule but tends to rise quite bit in the basement. Below danger levels to be sure but it would be next to nil with the trenches covered again. The ventilation system will take care of what little seeps in.

No. Nothing bad enough to arc and the improper ground wouldn't do it either. All that's happening is a minute current drain. Some of those things are very, very sensitive. All it takes is a slight drain to trip them instead of an actual short circuit.

If they hadn't been wired in a series, the problems would have been easier to track down as only the effected outlet would trip.

I'm going to rewire every damned outlet in the house. There are many because the builder obviously envisioned ten million appliances and lamps being used in the house.

On tap this weekend, attack my remaining et peeve with our house.

The builder went crazy with GFCI outlets. Literally crazy. Typing multiple outlets into the same circuit and wiring them in such a way that if one registers the slightest drain, they all trip.

They can and do trip because the lugs were not very tight and he also screwed up the grounds on several. This means they go off randomly - Even with zero load.

I've put up with it for this long as the worst offenders are on circuits we don't even use. Mostly in the basement. This is about to change though as I am putting in a large freezer and a dehumidifier.

Happens in spurts. I've been almost silent for the better part of two months. (Busy and nothing worth saying) Just an occasional peep.

@kdfrawg Grow some garlic in a pot indoors and you'll see what I mean. Bulbs will not form. You just have a tiny, onion-like blob at the base. No cloves.

The shoots are actually good diced up and put in recipes though.

I have a dress shirt fetish in addition to my watch fetish. Though, today's wardrobe looks like it was lifted from a panhandler.
