@jmreekes I've had them say, "The office said I can give them a static IP but it can't be 192.168.0.1". My choices in response are..
"That's because it is in a private class C address range reserved for LANs." and go through a quickie "This is a LAN. This is a WAN. lecture.
"Do you have someone in your office with a layman''s understanding of networking that I could talk to?"
